It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and uncle. Larry was born in Nelson, BC and spent most of his life in Crescent Valley. He worked for Kootenay Forest Products and Slocan Forest Products. Larry was a selfless, hard-working, generous man with a great sense of humour. He was an excellent cook, and passionate about art, antiques, and collectibles.
Larry is survived by parents Mildred and Nick Rilkoff; brothers Nick (Jeanette) and Jim; nieces Lareena (Dan), Vanessa (Andrew), Kimberley (Matt), nephew Ryan (Joy); grandnephew Jaxxon; and numerous relatives and friends.
Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Kootenay Boundary Hospital for their compassionate care. A traditional Doukhobor service was held November 26, 2021, with limited numbers due to Covid-19 restrictions. Interment followed at Shoreacres Cemetery. Sincere gratitude to Bill Strilaeff and staff at Castlegar Funeral Chapel, Peter Relkoff for officiating, and J.J. Verigin for his thoughtful words. Heartfelt thanks to all the relatives and friends who supported the family during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice.
Larry will be deeply missed, dearly remembered, and ever in our hearts. May the good LORD accept Larry's soul into His Heavenly Kingdom.
