Lloyd Ish passed away peacefully at Castleview Care Centre on Jan 17 at the age of 88, with his daughter by his side.

Lloyd was born in Vanguard, Sask. on May 9, 1930 to Leme and Obeline Ish.

He move to Castlegar in the 60's and was a teacher of mechanics at SHSS until his retirement.

Lloyd met Mary Tarasoff (Salekin), married and moved to Thrums. He loved having his large lawn where he could manicure it to golf green. He had a love for animals, feeding the wild birds and enjoyed having the title of most hummingbirds in the community.

Lloyd was one of the founding members of the Castlegar Golf Course and has the 15th hole dedicated to him "The Mechanic".

Lloyd was predeceased by his parents, wife Mary (2013) and his brother Ron.

Surviving him are his children, Gerry (Jackie) Tarasoff, Tom (Sally) Tarasoff, Debra Niehaus, Judy (Don) Soroke, 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his beloved cat "Tiger".
