March 9, 1953 - June 28, 2019
It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of Louie William Wishloff, a loving husband and father of three. Louie lost his courageous battle to Colon Cancer on Friday, June 28, 2019.
Louie was born to Bill and Lucy Wishloff on March 9, 1953. He spent most of his life in the Kootenay area where he enjoyed cooking and entertaining for family and friends, being in the outdoors, golfing, playing crib and gardening. Louie loved to travel and spend time with his children and grandchildren. Over the years he found much joy volunteering for the Castlegar Special Olympics.
Louie was a man of many talents, some which included owning the Dairy Queen in Creston and supervising at Pope and Talbot in Castlegar.
Louie was predeceased by his father Bill, mother Lucy and brother Bill. He is remembered with love by his wife Christine, his three children, Shauna (Larry), Karlene (Ed), and Adam (Kayla), his three grandchildren Jenna, Max, and Myles, siblings Violet, Elaine (Dave), Peter (Yolanda), Linda (Tom), John (Sherry), brother-in-law Drew (Zrinka) and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Louie will be greatly missed; but not forgotten. If you wish to pay your respects, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 6th at Little Bear Golf Course from 1:00-3:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Castlegar Special Olympics. https://www.specialolympics.ca/british-columbia/communities/castlegar
A special thank you to all of the family and friends who lifted Louie's spirits during this tough journey. We would also like to extend a thank you to Dr. Smart, the doctors and nurses at both the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, and the Kelowna General Hospital for the endless hours of care that they provided.
