In Loving Memory ~

Luella Rose Andreashuk (nee Evdokimo) was born in Nelson on January 22nd, 1945 to Michael and Annie Evdokimo, the youngest of four children. Lue grew up near Nelson on the family farm and graduated from L. V. Rogers in 1963. Lue did well academically and played on the L.V. Rogers Girls soccer team in high school. As a teen she liked horseback riding, creek fishing and exploring the wilderness around Nelson with her brother Sam.

Lue excelled at math and used her skill working for several business in Nelson and Castlegar as a stenographer, clerk and bookkeeper. She went on to start her own bookkeeping and accounting service in Castlegar for several years. Lue was active in the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce in the 1980's and 1990's and helped to organize the Columbia River International Jet Boat Races and Sunshine Days.

Wanting a change from self-employment she became the manager of the Castlegar Chamber of Commerce and manager of a window and door manufacturing business before retiring in 2004.

Lue was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed finding unique ways to make her family smile! Lue was very fond of her grandsons, nieces and nephews and was always excited to receive a visit or a phone call from her American family.

Lue enjoyed spending time at the family cabin at Christina Lake, spending time with her dogs, gardening, antique collecting, metal detecting, puzzles, genealogy and mastered the art of making strawberry cheesepie and Christmas shortbread cookies, family favourites!

Lue passed peacefully at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital on December 31st, 2024 after a brief illness with her son Kenton and daughter-in-law Lisa at her side.

Lue is survived by her husband Rae, eldest son Kenton and daughter-in-law Lisa Baker and their son Nataani, her youngest son Bradley, daughter Leeanna Newton and her sons Mikyle and Aydin Newton and Leeanna's partner Peter Bullock.
