It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mabel Denisoff on March 7th, 2022. Mabel was 91 years old. She was born in Glade, B.C., to Mary and Alex Chernenkoff. She married Nick Denisoff on April 23, 1955, and they had 5 children.
In addition to running the farm with Nick and keeping her extensive gardens flourishing, Mabel enjoyed baking, and being out in nature as well as sewing, embroidering, crocheting, and knitting.
She was an avid sports fan and watched baseball and hockey regularly. Mabel loved to sing, and she and her husband Nick were proud members of the Glade Choir, Kootenay Choir and Heritage Choir for many years.
Mabel was a lifelong member of the Union of Spiritual Communities of Christ and belonged to the Glade Ladies cooking group, the Kootenay Ladies Organization and other community groups. Her warmth, dignity, and generosity were recognized by all who were fortunate enough to know her. At craft fairs, she always gave away more of her slippers than she sold.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Nick and their son Sava, as well as and by her brother Alex. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side.
Mabel is lovingly remembered by her children Neil (Louise), Lovette (Mark), Eilenna (Keith) and Dennis (Morgan) and her many grandchildren and great- grandchildren, extended family, and dear friends.
A kind and gentle spirit, Mabel will be missed by us all. A private funeral service will be held in Glade. The family invites friends and acquaintances to remember Mabel in spirit with a moment of thought or quiet prayer.
