In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we lost our loving wife, mom, baba & friend. Mable passed October 15th, 2023 surrounded by love & family. Mable was born August 18th, 1941 in Krestova to Bill & Helen Sapriken. She married the love of her life Harry Wasilenkoff December 10th, 1960 in Glade. They were blessed with 3 children and moved from Glade to Shoreacres in 1966 & called that home for the next 57 years. During her life, Mable enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Until 5 years ago she grew a bountiful garden to harvest/preserve & fill her much-admired root cellar. Mable was a great hostess; she loved to fuss over company, so much so she usually missed most of their visit. She was especially good at Sunday morning breakfasts & introduced many to her special "hotcakes & tomato juice" combination. Mable was a lifelong member of the USSC & active member of the Shoreacres & Brilliant Ladies groups. She loved to crochet, knit & sew, and was a perfectionist, if she found a missed stitch she would undo her project to fix no matter how close it was to completion. Left to mourn is Harry her loving husband of nearly 63 years, son(s) Bob(Sarah), Gordie(Christine), & daughter Lydia(Tim) Streleiff. She will be dearly missed by grandkids Greg, Ashley, Vanya, Nura, Nadya, Harrison, Molly, James & great grandkids Beau, Riley, Cameron, Harvey & Calvin. As well sister Naida(Ed) Masloff, sister-in-law Gertie Poohachoff, numerous nephews, nieces & cousins. Mable was predeceased by her sister Vera Chernoff in 2021 whom she so dearly missed. Mable will always be remembered for her love and kindness. She was the light in our hearts & we will forever cherish our memories of her. We would like to thank Home & Community Care Staff, the Care Staff at Jubilee Manor & Talarico Place for their care & compassion. Bill Strilaeff & staff at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel for their comfort & guidance.
