November 22, 1930 - February 24, 2019
It is with deep sorrow that the family of Margaret Jean Foubister wish to announce her peaceful passing at Talarico Place on Sunday February 24, 2019, blessed with 88 years of life.

Her family immigrated to Canada from Scotland. Marg was born in Smithers, BC on November 22, 1930 to parents Alexander (Sandy) and Mary Duffus and was raised with her three sisters and two brothers; she was the baby of the family. They eventually moved to Prince Rupert.

This is where she met the love of her life, Bob, a Scotsman who was traveling the world and by destiny ended up in Prince Rupert. They were married on December 22, 1959. The love that they shared was indescribable. In 1960 they moved to Castlegar, where Bob would be part of the team who opened the Celgar Pulp Mill. In 1961 they were blessed with the arrival of their son Ian and in 1963, a daughter Janet.

Margaret was always involved in the community and would always take anyone who needed help or guidance under her wing. She was actively involved in the Castlegar Figure Skating Club, Castlegar Minor Hockey and Shrine Club.

Marg and Bob loved to entertain and host their friends who soon became like family. She truly cherished her family and friends.

The true highlight of her life was the arrival of her precious granddaughters, Ashley and Cassandra, who she spoiled and loved unconditionally. She was a proud Nana.

Marg had an infectious laugh and a kind heart. Everyone who knew and loved her would say she was the most selfless, caring person and even when dealt hardship, she remained strong and kept a smile.

Left to mourn her loss is her son Ian of Prince George; daughter Janet (Claude) and granddaughters Ashley and Cassandra of Calgary; as well as, sister, Isobel; nieces, nephews . She was predeceased by her loving husband Bob in 2015, after 55 years of marriage; parents, Sandy and Mary; brothers, Willie, Alistair; sisters Janet and Betty.

A heartfelt thanks to her beloved niece Mary Briggeman, the loving staff at Talarico place and everyone who visited.

In keeping with the wishes of Margaret, there will be no funeral service.

If you have any memories of Margaret, her family would appreciate if you could send them to vilgrain@shaw.ca.
