Margaret was born in Kamsack Saskatchewan on April 14, 1923. She passed away peacefully in Kelowna B.C. on December 22, 2017 at the age of 94.
At the age of 17 Margaret moved to Toronto and later Vancouver, before settling in the Kootenays. There she met Peter Obedkoff and they were married on August 24, 1948. They raised three children on their beloved property overlooking the Columbia River in Castlegar.
Margaret was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, auntie, friend, and community member. She was a charter member of the Castlegar Hospital Auxillary, and found joy in service to the community. She had a keen interest in world affairs and valued higher education. Her poetry was published in the Castlegar News for many years. Margaret and Peter always welcomed family, friends, and travellers into their home, offering delicious food and warm hospitality.
Margaret will be lovingly remembered by her husband Peter, her children Victoria Obedkoff, Carol Garton (Ryland), Dan Obedkoff (Corinne), grandchildren Bryce (Carissa), Emilia, Aaron, Clarisse, and her nephews, nieces and relatives.
The family would like to thank the caring people at Missionwood Retirement Residence, Mission Creek Landing, Unit 3 West at Kelowna General Hospital and Dr. Michelle Thomasse.

A family service was held in Kelowna on December 28, 2017 and burial took place in Castlegar on January 4, 2018.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
