God gifted us with the spirit of Maria's life and spirit where all were touched by her gentleness, kindness and tender heart. Maria along with her husband created a life of so much love, giving and purpose as well as a home welcome to all. A place of warmth, laughter and blessings.
Maria's love of flowers, gardening and cooking not only opened hearts, but had a lasting scent and touch in memories she created and left to all who knew her. The love she held in her heart and home in raising six children as well as loving all her additional growing family members where she made a haven for all who loved to be near has left a forever presence of her soul's beauty in us all.
Maria selflessly devoted her life to her family like no other. She loved her local Portuguese community, church and all those she knew near and far. She was funny, talented and the strongest woman we could ever know. Maria was a woman to look up to. A very rare woman of grace and goodness that will forever live in our hearts.
We wish we could have more time with her. To hear her voice, her wisdom, her every word, but we will always remember her as she would always say, "Life is too short" and we will live fully knowing that God gave us the best and took the best who now has her peace watching over us all as our beautiful heavenly Angel, Maria.
With gratitude we'd like to thank the so many people who supported, sent flowers, food, visited, called and many more acts of great kindness during the last month of Maria's life as well as a special thank you to Bill & staff at the Castlegar Funeral Home & Gale at Kootenay Floral who assisted our family in her making her memorial service a beautiful and peaceful one.
