It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother.
On May 30, 2019, Marion passed away peacefully at Poplar Ridge Long Term Care Facility in Trail, BC.
Marion was born Mary J. Verigin on July 19, 1933 in Verigin, Saskatchewan. She was the youngest of three children born to John J. Verigin and Mable (Chernoff ).
When she was a young girl the family moved to Grand Forks, BC. After completing high school in Grand Forks, Marion moved to Vancouver for employment. It was there that she met her husband Alex. They were married in 1956. After living in Maple Ridge and Southern Alberta for a short time they moved back to Grand Forks where they raised their young family.
Marion was predeceased by her husband Alex in 2011 after 55 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents, brother Mike, sister Polly and nephew Peter.
She is survived by her sons Leonard, Alex (Michelle), Harley and Garet, grandchildren Eric (Corinna), Jennifer and Nicole (Phil) and great grandchildren Shelby, Tobi and Mila.
Marion was a kind, gentle person; a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed her garden, sewing and knitting. Her great smile, warm laugh and ever caring heart will be forever remembered.
Funeral service is at USCC in Grand Forks, Saturday, June 8th at 10 am. Friends and family are invited to attend.
