On Saturday June 3rd 2017, 33 year old Mathieu Beaudet of Fort Saskatchewan lost his battle with cancer and passed peacefully with his family by his side. A battle that was fought long and hard to be present as long as he could be, for his family and his children.

He is survived by his wife Jacquelyn, daughters Keeley and Avorie, son Rhys, sister Ellen, nephew Thorben, parents Evelyn and Trevor, extended family, as well as numerous friends. Matt will always be remembered for his beautiful spirit, his love for the outdoors, his trademark laughter, and positive attitude towards everyone he ever met. He was an inspiration, and will continue to shine above forever. Matt’s family is grateful for all the kindness and words of support. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. His family and friends know Matt would send a huge thank you to all who supported him and his family on this difficult journey.

A Celebration of Life for Matt will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Castlegar Community Recreation Complex, Selkirk Room, 2101 6th Avenue, Castlegar, BC. This event is open to the public and everyone is welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions of school supplies or non-perishable food items can be made to the Castlegar Community Harvest Foodbank (phone 250-608-2227) or cash donations to the Kootenay Animal Assistance Program Society (www.kaap.ca).

As Mathieu always said - “Keep on, keeping on!”
