On Saturday September 19, 2020 Max Kolesnikoff resident of Gilpin BC passed away at Silver Kettle Village Nursing Home, Grand Forks BC at the age of 88.
Max was born in Watson Saskatchewan on June 17, 1932 to Anton and Dora Kolesnikoff.
He was the third of 5 children. He is survived by his first wife Anne Kinakin, Son George in Castlegar BC, Daughter Naomi in Victoria BC, Son Matthew in Vancouver BC, Son Alex in Grand Forks BC, along with his brother Joe, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Max was predeceased by his parents Anton and Dora, His sister Mary Terichow, his wife Molly (nee Katasonoff), brothers Peter and John, and grandson Anton.
Max was laid to rest on Thursday September 24, 2020 in Krestova, BC with his family and childhood community.
The families would like to thank the physicians/nurses/dentists who took care of Max medically, all the staff of Silver Kettle Village Nursing Home, Everette Baker-Grand Forks Funeral Home, Special Gratitude to Harry Zeabin of Krestova who took very special care of Max's details and helped execute a beautiful traditional ceremony in these challenging times and the people of Grand Forks, Gilpin, Krestova Community, and surrounding area that had come out to join us (in body or spirit) as we laid Max to rest with his family, his community and his final home in the traditional fashion.
