It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, Melvin Cyrenus Dawson. Mel was born in Irma, Alberta on September 5, 1932. After finishing school he worked in the oil fields then moved to Castlegar and worked for Celgar for 24 years.
Mel is survived by his loving wife Verna of 42 years, his sons Darren of Mission, and Darcy of Castlegar. Sisters Norma (Dennis), Myrna (Harry) both of Edmonton, Alberta, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Norman and son David. Mel passed away November 22 with his family by his side at Talarico Place.
Mel had many hobbies, the first one being his home, yard and garden, he cross country skied, golfed and curled.
We are forever grateful to the staff at Talarico Place for their love and caring for Mel over the last 6 years.He will be remembered for his generosity and humour.
