It is with sad hearts the family of Mervyn Millar wish to announce his passing peacefully at the age of 93. He had been a resident at Talarico Place since his stroke in December 2019.
Merv was born in Brock, Saskatchewan on June 19, 1927 and the family moved to the lower mainland in 1933.
He met his wife Mary there and together raised 4 children, Andy (Gail), Brian (Carol), Penny (Keith) and Terry who predeceased him in 2014.
In 1950 Merv and his brother Ken went into the automotive business in North Delta and he went on as an auto/ marine mechanic until his retirement. He kept very active with his many grandchildren and recently, great-grandchildren. At 92 he was still golfing, curling and gardening.
We would like to thank Dr. Merritt and all the wonderful staff at Talarico Place who took such great care of Dad, especially through this pandemic.
There will be no service at Merv's request, but we will have a Celebration of Life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Talarico Place would be appreciated. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's online register at www.castlegarfuneral.com
