July 22, 1924 - July 22, 2018
Our loving mother, grand mother and great grandmother passed peacefully on her 94th birthday. Mom was born in Ostrov Village in Brilliant BC (which is now the site of Selkirk College) on July 22, 1924 to parents Frol and Helen Pictin. She was the 3rd of 5 children, all of whom predeceased her; Mike, Frances, John and Gordon.

Mom will be missed by son Walter (Debby), daughters Donna (Chris) and Valerie (Dick), son in law Derryll, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Shirley and husband Nick.

Nick and Molly were married in Salmo BC in 1947. In 1950 they were one of the first families to move to Montrose, where they lived for 19 years. In 1969 they moved to Castlegar.

Mom was a talented cook and gardener. Our meals were mostly from her garden. Whenever the family visited there was always borcht, lapshevnik, pirrahi, fresh garden salads, fruit from their trees and one of our favourite breakfasts, blintsi. Mom's grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life.

A private family memorial service was held on July 27th. Internment followed at Park Memorial Cemetery, Castlegar. Thank you to all the staff at Castlewood Village and to the compassion shown by the staff at the emergency ward of the Trail Hospital.
