Jan 5, 1978 - Mar 14, 2018
It is with great sadness that Nayana's family announce her passing on March 14th, 2018.

Nayana, from Leduc, Alberta, entered into the presence of her Lord, from natural causes in a Calgary hospital surrounded by her family.

Nayana (which means "princess from the mountains with shining eyes") was born

January 5th, 1978 in Sri Lanka. She was adopted and came to Edmonton at 2 years old and then moved with her family to Castlegar at the age of 10. She loved Castlegar and was a special friend to many, especially to those who faced challenges in their daily lives. She had a gentle, fun loving spirit that reached out and gave joy when life was difficult for others.

A highlight in her high school years included a mission trip to Trinidad/Tobago where she learned how to tell stories to children through chalk drawings. She also had the honor of being chosen "Miss Congeniality" when she was in the Miss Castlegar Pageant. She indeed was congenial to so many.

Nayana married Patrick Lacasse in 1999 and they had two children, Loradana and Isaiah, who were the loves of her life.

Nayana leaves behind Patrick, Loradana, Isaiah, her parents, sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and so many friends.

She left us too soon and will forever live in our hearts.

By Nayana's request there will be no service.
