Nora Stoopnikoff

Nora Stoopnikoff

It is with great sadness that the family

of Nora Stoopnikoff announces her pass-

ing at the age of 83.

Nora was born in Champion Creek

to Fred and Helen Zeboroff, the eldest of seven children. In her younger years she worked in the orchards and canneries in the Okanagan, and the fields in Creston and Grand Forks.

She loved her vegetable and flower gar-

dens, playing bingo, trips to the casinos and visiting with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and baker, loved entertaining and meeting new people and would never let anyone leave the table hungry.

Her pride and joy was her family, even

through the hard times and failing health she was the rock that held us together, loved us all unconditionally, and taught us the values of life.

She is survived by her daughters Nora

(Bill) Evdokimoff, Lillian (Derm) Jack-

man, Violet (Bill) Wallace, brother Pete

Zeboroff, and sister Helen (Pete) Plotnikoff.

She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many friends and relatives.

Nora was predeceased by her husband

Joe, her parents Fred and HelenZeboroff,

sisters Margaret and Mary in infancy,

her sister Grace, brother Fred Zeboroff,

sister Elsie Abietkoff, brother-in-law John Abietkoff, sister-in-law Elsie Zeboroff and nephew Peter Plotnikoff.

The family would like to take this opportunity to thank friends and relatives for their love and support during this difficult time, and for all the food, cards, and phone calls.

Thank you to all the singers and grave

diggers, Fred Makortoff for officiating the service, Bill Strilaeff and staff at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel, Dr. Lesperance for the care she’s given Mom all these years; to the doctors and nursing staff at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for the care she received during her brief stay, and the

Sandman Inn for preparing the luncheon.

Funeral services were held at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel on May 8, 2010, with burial at the Brilliant Cemetery.

Rest in peace now Mom and “Old Baba,”

May heaven cherish the angel we have

come to know and love.

Jackman, Evdokimoff & Wallace families.
