It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Olga. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She was 78.
Born December 6, 1939 to John & Polly Kalmakoff of Shoreacres, BC. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Mike Malakoff, daughter Donna Barabanow and sisters Laura Chernenkoff and Mary Kalmakoff.
She is survived by her daughters Bonnie Stanley and Joyce Malakoff, sisters Doris Dutoff and Ina Barabanoff, grandchildren Patrick, Allyson, Jessica, Chase and Kyle.
Olga was very dedicated to her family and the Doukhobor community. Some of her joys were singing in the Nelson Ladies Choir and the Taghum Ladies Choir. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren, playing cards with friends and attending the many Doukhobor gatherings. She was always keeping busy with something whether it was baking, gardening or crocheting. She was also an avid reader.
Olga always had a kind smile for everyone she met and a generous heart. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
A service for Olga will be held at a later date.
