Was born in Ferndorf Austria on July 9, 1929 and passed away with his wife by his side on February 19, 2016.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Effie, his two sons Gernot and Norman (Anita), his grandchildren Alicia (Cameron), Shaun (Bianca), Susan and his sister Elfriede.

Osi first came to Canada and worked for the Coast Guard out of Prince Rupert then went to work in the pulp mill there as an electrician. The family moved to Castlegar when the Pulp Mill was still under construction, Osi retired as the electrical Superintendent. Canada and especially Castlegar was the best place in the world he would always say. He was a member of the Red Mountain Ski Club for 50 years, he loved skiing and did not miss many days. As soon as skiing finished the fishing season started, most evenings you could find him at his favorite fishing hole down by the D bar D. When fishing was finished Grouse season would open, where could things be better. He must have believed a man’s wealth was determined by the amount of firewood he had on hand, he loved cutting firewood and always had a two years supply.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ankenbaurer for giving Osi the best care a family could ask for, also the IDA Pharmacy whose personal touch meant a lot. Thank you to the nurses and friends who made Osi’s last days much more comfortable.

As per request, Osi will be interred in Austria beside his parents.
