It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our father and grandfather Phillip Nick Popoff.
Phil is survived by sons Wayne (Lil), Gary (Carol), daughters Marilyn (Mark), Brenda (Kevin), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Phil is predeceased by wife Violet and daughter Linda and grandson Troy.
Phil was born to Nick and Mary Popoff in Pass Creek. He moved to Castlegar at 6 months old, where he lived out his life. He worked at the Castlegar Sawmill for 34 years, retiring in 1994. Phil liked fishing, gardening, woodworking, telling jokes and floor curling, which he managed for the senior’s group for 15 years. But Phils passion was playing his guitar and singing. He entertained at many local seniors homes and facilities in the area.
Dad you are dearly loved and you will be missed. No service as per Phil’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Castlegar Senior group.
