August 8, 1944 - March 30, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ray Guindon on March 30th with his loving wife Peggy at his side. Ray was born in St Paul, Alberta to Rose and Maurice Guindon. He grew up on the family farm in Lafond. As a young adult, he moved to Castlegar where he was employed.at the local sawmill. He worked there until he retired.

He and Peggy lived in Castlegar where they raised their three sons and enjoyed their grandchildren. Ray was a member of the local Gyro Club. He looked forward to the annual conventions and curlerama to reconnect with friends. Peggy and him were members of the Castlegar Good Sam Club, enjoying local campouts and Samborees. With the trailer they enjoyed trips to Winnipeg, Calgary, Saskatchewan, the Yukon as well as many Kootenay campgrounds. His great joy was watching his grandkids playing in the backyard pool.

Ray is survived by wife Peggy of 55 years, sons Elmer, Jeffery and Cory (Mary) grandchildren James, Chelsea (Kyle), Cassi (Micheal), Tani (Nick), Sabrina and Tanner, great grandchildren Hope, Keagan, Quinn, Jayce and Daxton, sisters Diane, Jeannine (Gerry), Lillian and brother-in-law Fred. He was predeceased by his parents Rose and Maurice, great grandson, Kayden and nephew, Nigel.

Thank you to friends and relatives for the food, support and loving hugs, and the Castlegar Funeral Home for their assistance. A special thank you to Dr Cochrane and the Trail Oncology Team for the caring support they provided during Ray's treatments.

A family interment will take place at a later date.
