In Loving Memory ~
On the evening of September 26 Richard passed away peacefully in his home. He was born on November 17th, 1935 in Trail,BC to Gabriele and Mary Martini.
The family moved to Castlegar when he was in grade one and he spent the majority of his life here other than three years in the Air Force and three years in California.
Richard met the love of his life, Joan, in high school and they were married on May 23,1959. Kerri was first born in California in 1960, followed by Lisa in 1964 and Derek in 1965 after moving back to Castlegar.
Richard was hired at Celgar where he worked for 35 years retiring at 58. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing and skiing with family and friends. He loving tended to the yard and a big vegetable garden which he was weeding the day before his death.
Richard was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Lorraine Hoskins.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, his daughter, Kerri (Jim) and their children, Joshua and Mark, his daughter, Lisa (Mike) and her children, Luke (Vanessa)and Miranda (Wade) and their children, Adalynn and Bodhi, and by his son, Derek. He is also survived by his older brother, Rudy, and his family.
A Celebration of Life was held on October 2nd at the Genelle Hall. The family wishes to thank all who attended and provided support through this difficult time.
