In Loving Memory ~

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ruth Catherine (Turner) Bublitz Giittinger on October 8, 2023 with family by her side.

Ruth was born in Trail on July 23,1933 to Edward and Ethel Turner. She was raised in the Trail area and after her marriage to Albert Bublitz in 1949 they soon relocated to Genelle to raise their young family.

Ruth enjoyed gardening and crafting; with sewing being a great passion she excelled at. Her family and friends were the lucky recipients of her talents.

After a return to Business College she reentered the workforce and worked as a bookkeeper within several companies in the Trail/Castlegar area. Paddy's Esso; Castlegar Co-op; and Tarry's Woodcraft. Once Albert retired they wintered in Yuma Arizona for many years; adding in several cruises and excursions with friends and relatives.

After Albert passed in 1996 she returned to the Yuma winters on her own. She met Kenneth Giittinger from Nebraska and they later married in Texas with all families present. Travelling was also in the cards for these two; with trips across the USA and Canada they created some great memories with their friends.

After Kens death she remained in Yuma; later returning to Canada in 2017 taking up residence in Castlewood Village until her passing.

She is survived by her son Fred (Marg) Bublitz, daughter Barbara (Chuck) Morin, and son Mark (Lynn) Bublitz; Grandchildren: Mark (Tammy) Bublitz, Lori (Jeff) Wright; Danielle (John) Smith, Darren (Jodie) Crockett; Jodi Bublitz, Stacey (Jen) Bublitz, Krissy (Ryan) Bublitz; and nephew Edward (Marie) McKimmie. Great Grandchildren: Jon Ballentyne, Daisy Kennedy, Vance Johnson, Taylor and Morgyn Smith, Amira and Mona Bublitz, Victoria and Sebastian Bublitz; Great Great Grandchildren: Graham Wilson, Oliver and Sadie Ballentyne.

She was called "Great" by all including the larger blended family of grandchildren and great Grandchildren.

We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Cromp, Castlegar Emergency; Dr. Sawyer, RN Jessica and all the nursing staff on 3rd floor, Kootenay Lake Hospital for the wonderful care they gave mom and us in her final days.

Cremation has taken place. The Family will have a private memorial at a later date. If desired as an expression of sympathy donations may be made in Ruth's name to a charity of choice.

FOR YOU MOM ---
