Williams, Sally Anne (nee Teale) born July 17, 1946 in Birmingham, England died on September 7, 2018. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband David, son Neil, daughter Gwen (Donovan), her two sisters Mary and Eileen and their families in Britain, and her sister-in-law Rhiannon in Vancouver.
Arriving in Castlegar with David in 1975, Sally helped him set-up his veterinary practice before pursuing a career as a teacher in School District 9/20. She was active in the community through organizations like St. David's Thrift Store, Castlegar Health Watch, Amnesty International, the NDP, the women's rights movement, and refugee support groups.
Thanks to the many family and close friends and the staff at the oncology unit at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Sally and her family especially appreciate the wonderful care she received from Dr. Smart.
At Sally's request there will be no funeral. Ovarian cancer research is not well funded in Canada so, if you can, in lieu of flowers please support Ovarian Cancer Canada in her memory. Thank you for all the many expressions of support Sally and her family received over the last 18 months.
