Sandra Korman passed away on November 11th 2009 surrounded by her "team" who had cared for her during her struggle with brain cancer. She leaves her son,Shaun Korman(Nikki Dorans), daughter Jennifer Barclay, sister Sheren Spilker, brother Brian Lizee, sister in law Arlene Lizee, and nieces and nephews Caitlin Spilker(Alex Coombs), Eric Spilker, Dave Lizee and Dan Lizee to mourn her with great sadness. She is missed also by many close friends who loved her dearly. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Roland and Rose Lizee, and her niece Jane Lizee.
Sandy made a mark in the arts community, being a potter for many years, managing two galleries, and making her fused-glass "blings". She also contributed to many positive changes and developments in the Kootenays through her work with Corky Evans, MLA for Nelson-Creston for three terms.
She will be remembered for her active and loving involvement with people and community, her sense of humour and strong personality, and her way of creating beautiful places, things,and experiences.
Sandy's family wishes to thank all her (and our) friends for their wonderful support throughout her illness and passing. Doctors Lesperance and Snyman for their exceptional kindness and care, and all those too many to name who helped us do all that had to be done during this difficult time.
