1963-2021 ~ It is with great sadness that the family of Steven Russell Brandt announce his passing on August 3, 2021, after a courageous fight against brain cancer. He will be greatly missed!
Steven is survived by Angie Brandt, his beloved wife of 32 years, his mother Vivianne Brandt, sister Val (Jerry) Harris, brother Todd (Judy) Brandt, sister Karen (Martin) Piatt, numerous nieces and nephews, the Brandt, Petre and Samyka Families and longtime friends John (Dani) Mayer. He was predeceased by his father Raymond Brandt.
Steven was born in Yorkton, SK in 1963 and the family lived in various locations with his dad being in the RCMP. The family later moved to Kelowna, BC where he met Angie and they moved to Castlegar, BC. in 1994.
He started his own business there of window and door installation. He was working for Mitchell's Supply at the time of his death, a job he loved.
Steven loved many things including fishing, camping, grilling, woodworking, music, the Seattle Seahawks, his cat, his dogs, his family but mostly, his wife. Steven persevered throughout his life with eye surgeries that didn't stop him from living his life to the fullest. He was known to do things his way and had a unique sense of humour. It was heartwarming to make him laugh.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the love and support during this difficult time.
Many were fortunate to get final visits in with Steven. The kindnesses shown by friends and neighbors will not be forgotten.
There will be a Celebration of Life June 4, 2022 at Jewel Lake, BC, a place of special memories for Steven.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
