March 24, 1950 - September 29, 2024

In loving memory ~

With profound sadness, the family of Ted William Switzer would like to announce his passing on September 29th, 2024, at his home with his family by his side.

Ted was born March 24th, 1950, to Harold and Alice Switzer in Winnipeg Manitoba. His father passed away when Ted was just one. Alice Married Albert Dyck shortly after and moved the family to Calgary AB where Ted grew up with his siblings. He spent four years in the Canadian Air Force as a radar tec. In 1976 he moved to B.C and that was where he met his wife of 40 plus years, Sharon. They moved to Robson in 1983 where they had their daughter, Heather. Ted worked at the saw mill in Castlegar as a boom boat operator for 32 years until he retired.

Ted enjoyed hiking, fishing, and hunting in the Kootenays. He had the chance to explore the Valhalla Provincial Park and many other beautiful places. He enjoyed spending time on his "acre on the river" as he called it, with music playing. He enjoyed time spent with all of his family.

Ted had an extensive record collection and loved nothing better than sitting playing his albums while having a cold Kokanee, playing pool or shooting darts.

He is predeceased by his parents, his brother in laws Earl and Richard, Uncle Jocko and Nephew Kristopher Babcock.

Ted survived by his wife of 47 years Sharon, his daughter Heather (Luis), his sisters Suzy, Gwen (George) and Madeline. His brother, Daniel (Margaret). His in-laws Shauna (Richard), Mike (Brenda), Angie and Brian (Debbie). He has many cherished nieces and nephews that he leaves behind as well.

The family would like to thank Dr. Vasil for her care, the home support Nurses who were so kind and Castlegar Funeral Chapel.

He was loved very much and will be greatly missed. He will be forever in our hearts.

Rest in Peace Ted.
