April 1, 2009

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of

my mother

Tina Holuboff

(Markin) of the age of 90 years, on

April 1, 2009.

Tina was born in Brilliant on April 28, 1918 to Bill and Doonia Markin. She had two bothers, Bill and Nick Markin, and two sisters, Nastia Potapoff and Mary Osachoff. Also she had two step sisters, Ester Markin and Violet Dergosoff.

From Brilliant, her parents moved to Tarry’s where she grew up and attended school.

She met and married John Holuboff and they lived by the Robson/Castlegar ferry.

Tina was a avid gardener during her first years of marriage. Her only child was born

in 1936.

Tina was in business most of her life.

Opening up a grocery store with her

husband, old age home, apartments and finally with her son a Motel and Trailer Park.

She was incapacitated by her first stroke in 1992 and was moved to the Rossland

rest home. She stayed there for two years, then when room was available, was moved to Talarico Place in Castlegar, where she resided until her death.

Tina was predeceased by her mother in early childhood and by her dad later in life.

Also by her older brother Bill Markin, sister Nastia Potapoff, sister Mary Osachoff, step sister Ester Markin and her husband John.

She is survived by son Walter (Margaret) of Castlegar, 3 granddaughters, Bernice

Barsalou (Mark) of Surrey BC, Michel

Beattie (Kelvin) of Port Alice, BC and Deana Postnikoff (Rob) of Shoreacres, BC. She has

7 great grandchildren and 1 great

great grandchild.

She will be missed by her family, who always came to visit her when in town and by her many friends.

Tina was laid to rest at the Brilliant

cemetery on April 6, 2009, under the care

of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel.

We would like to thank our friends for

bringing food and comfort during our grief.

Also we would like to thank Talarico Place, Castlegar Funeral Chapel, Dr. Merrit and especially the psalmists for their

harmonious singing and our MC,

Mike Kanigan for doing a tremendous

job officiating at the service.

Thank you all and

God Bless!
