We are saddened to announce that Vera Tamelin of Castlegar, previously of Pass Creek and Blueberry Creek, peacefully passed away after a brief illness at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital (KBRH) in Trail at the age of 89.
Vera was born in Castlegar to Dora Doubinin. She was predeceased by her mother, her husband John Tamelin and her infant granddaughter, Kristie.
Vera married John Tamelin on July 26, 1952 and they raised their three children in Blueberry Creek. She was a dedicated mother who loved and supported her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren in every way possible.
She is survived by her daughter, Elaine (Bob Kosinec) of Claresholm, AB; Wayne (Corinne) of Castlegar; and Don of Victoria; and her brother John Lebidoff (Denise) and her brother-in-law Harry (Denise), sister-in-law Polly Tamelin, and sister-in-law Elizabeth Kalesnikoff all of Castlegar; along with many nieces and nephews.
She will greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her granddaughter Karrie (Kevin Davis) of Claresholm, AB and her two great-grandchildren, Blake and Shaya; her grandson Rob Kosinec (Christina) of Castlegar; her two great-grandchildren, Jace and Corbin and by her step-granddaughter Shaunda McLellan of Ottawa, ON.
The family would like to thank the staff and friends she made during her ten years at Castle Wood Village where she called home. Also, a special thank you to the dedicated staff of the 3rd floor medical at KBRH and to Bill Strilaeff and staff of the Castlegar Funeral Chapel
A celebration of Vera's life was held on Tuesday September 22 at the Castlegar Funeral Chapel with her being laid to rest at the Kinnaird Cemetery with her husband, John.
