Jul 8, 1924 - May 24, 2018
Viola Pearl Hallock passed away peacefully on May 24, 2018 at Castleview Care Centre.

Viola, was born at Pulman Washington on July 8, 1924. Her childhood was spent in the Rocky Mountain House area where she lived until she married her husband, Gordon on June 9, 1948. Gordon and Viola settled in Fruitvale BC from 1948 to 1993.

Viola was a homemaker for many years choosing only work that allowed her family to come first as the children grew. Many will remember her as the "Friendly Fuller Brush Lady". In 1993 they moved to Robson to be closer to their cherished granddaughters. Gordon and Viola moved into Castlegar in 2009 to call Castle Wood Village their home. Viola moved in January 2018 to Castleview Care Centre.

Viola was a fun, feisty, strong, woman with a quick wit and a loud laugh. Mom/Gramma gifted us with the lessons of; true unconditional love, lifelong learning (she and her friend Isabell learned to swim at 60), enjoyment -she loved bingo, travel, gambling, and the importance of accomplishments quilting, sewing, crocheting, embroidering, crafting, all the while making her family her priority. She was unlike any other.

She is dearly loved and survived by her children Lorne (Lynn) and Sherry (Keith) Watson, Granddaughters Alyssa (Ryan) Biller and Emily (Kiel) McIntosh, Great grandchildren Olivia Pearl and Alex Biller and Cali and Kate McIntosh and Brother-in-law Dan and many nieces and nephews.

Viola was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Gordon and their young son Curtis Allen in 1959, her parents Pearl and Lawrence Percy James, and brother Lawrence James.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jensen for looking after mom for many years, Linda and Jane and staff of Castle Wood Village. Mom's last year without dad was very hard and you both made such a difference in our lives.

Dr. Vasil and the staff of Castleview Care Centre for your kindness and compassion was appreciated.

A graveside service of memory will be held at the Fruitvale Cemetery on June 15th at 3:30 PM.

Rest in peace, we will remember you.
