Wallace Eldon "Wally" Peacock passed away Monday, December 10th at Castleview Care Centre at age 82 with dear friends Carlos and Olga Jacinto and several of the outstanding staff of the facility at his side.
Wally was pre-deceased by Sharon, his wife of 54 years and partner of 57 years, who passed in early 2012.
He is survived by his son Mitch, daughter-in-law Arlene, grand-daughter Reese, and family and friends across Canada and the U.S.
Born-and-raised in Quebec, Wally, Sharon and Mitch re-located to B.C. in 1968 and never looked back.
After several moves, Castlegar became the family's home base while Wally travelled to work in warehousing, purchasing, and business management on numerous dam projects in B.C. and Alberta.
Upon retirement, Wally and Sharon loved life in the West Kootenays and celebrated many wonderful winters in Yuma, Arizona.
Though a man of few words, Wally let those closest to him know they were loved and those people were lifted by the strength of his caring.
Many thanks to Dr. David Larocque for what seems like a lifetime of support, and to the amazing professionals at Castleview Care Centre and Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital for your compassionate service.
There are no words to express the gratitude felt for neighbors Carlos and Olga Jacinto, and their boys Chris and Eric, who looked out for Wally and Sharon as if they were family for many years.
Also, a special nod to the "coffee shop boys" who were such a big part of his daily life.
A funeral service was held at Castlegar United Church on Monday, December 17th please make donations to the British Columbia Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
Castlegar Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
