September 6, 1925

- November 28, 2016

It is with great sadness we anounce the passing of Walter Lebedoff, November 28th, 2016 in Nelson, B.C. Walter was born on September 6th, 1925 in Kamsac Saskatchewan to his parents, Larry and Florence Lebedoff.

At a young age, Walter along with his family of five brothers, moved to Krestova.

Walter spent some time working in the orchards in Kelowna, which is where he met the love of his life, Gertie. They married in 1948, remaining in Kelowna for a few years, later relocating to Krestova, B.C. where they raised their family of five children, Marlene, Wally, Shirley, Valerie and Billy.

Walter was a very proud, strong, protective and loving family man. He was always willing to help family and friends, nothing was ever too much for him.

Walter enjoyed being in the outdoors tinkering on his cars, trucks, tractors, and snowplows. He was a proud member of the Crescent Valley Hall, and the Construction and Specialized Worker’s Union, Local 1611.

Amongst his passions in life, Walter enjoyed fishing, huckleberry and mushroom picking, farming, gardening, playing cards with friends, children and grandchildren, camping and the occasional soak at Ainsworth Hot Springs.

Walter is survived by his children Marlene (Tim) Soukeroff, Wally (Dana) Lebedoff, Shirley (Jim) Bradbury, 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Walter is predeceased by his loving wife, Gertie, parents Larry and Florence, and brothers John, Nick, Tim, Alec and Larry, daughter Valerie Kalesnikoff, son Bill Lebedoff and grandson Lorne Kalesnikoff.

We will miss him dearly, and will forever be in our hearts.

A service was held December 3, 2016 at Krestova Hall with interment at Krestova Cemetery. Castlegar Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
