In Loving Memory ~

May 1953 ~ January 2024.

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Wayne Plotnikoff, announce his passing.

Wayne was born in Nelson, to William (Bill) and Nancy Plotnikoff (nee Maloff) of Slocan Park. He attended elementary school in Slocan Park and then started high school at Mt. Sentinel.

He left high school before graduating and started his career at Triangle Pacific, later known as Slocan Forest Products in Slocan City. A few years later he decided to complete his GED at Selkirk College in Nelson. He tried his hand at accounting, but soon realized that his heart was not into working in an office, so he returned to the forest industry.

While working at Slocan Forest Products, Wayne earned his Millwright certificate. He worked there until his retirement from the lumber industry.

After retiring, Wayne spent some time in Slocan Park before moving to Calgary. Wayne enjoyed life in the big city. There he met and married Elena.

Wayne is survived by his children Heather (Mike) Crown, of Kelowna; Terri (Mike) Sainsbury and grandson Dominic Lively of Calgary; and Tony (Kim) Plotnikoff and granddaughters Khloe and Hana of Slocan Park.

His brother Mark (Robin) and family live in Calgary. Elena and her children also live in Calgary. His first wife Lora resides in Glade.

Wayne was predeceased by both parents and his sister Lillian Serack.

A celebration of life will be held later this year.

Wayne, your family dearly miss you and hope that you are resting in peace.
