WAYNE SYDNEY VOYKIN

Wayne was born November 10, 1948 in Nelson, British Columbia and passed away on September 10, 2010. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his wife of 43 years Marcie, two sons Rod

(Francis, granddaughters Oksana and Samantha), Mark (Manya). Parents Bill & Sue Voykin, Sisters Eleanor (John Brand & family), Sandra (Craig Soukeroff & family), Uncle Joe Podd, Parents-in-law Peter & Helen Jmioff, sister-in-law Shirley (Alex Pereverzoff & family) many relatives and friends. Wayne was predeceased by his grandparents.


Wayne lived in the Kootenay”s for most of his life with short moves to Penticton and Cranbrook. Wayne’s first job began at the sawmills in Slocan, BC and soon turned to working harvesting timber running equipment and then buying a logging truck. He drove logging truck for many years in the West Kootenay area and then joined the construction field becoming a member of the Union of Operating Engineers - Local 115 operating various types of equipment. Wayne last days were spent working in the North West Territories where he passed away from a heart attack.


Wayne was a dedicated member of the USCC all his life, was part of community choirs. In Wayne’s spare time he would either be riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife or strumming his guitar.


We love you our dear beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. We will miss you dearly. May you Rest in Peace.


In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Iskra.
