It is with equal parts joy and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Bill was born on Nov. 4, 1927, in Castlegar and passed away peacefully at home with his loving, caring family by his side on March 27, 2020.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Tina, his sister Helen, and his brothers Nick and George.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Verna. Also, his sons Larry (Leona), Tim, Bob and Ken (Jeannie). Deda will be lovingly remembered and continually celebrated by his seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Fastball and baseball played an important role in Bill's life: from his early years of being known as "Killer", a gifted fastball shortstop, to his later years of coaching a team to a second place finish at the Canadian Baseball Championship in Sydney, Nova Scotia, 1974.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Makwati, Dr. Larocque and their nursing staff.
There will be no service at this time, but as an expression of sympathy donations made in Bill's name to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
Bye Dad, we miss you so much! You will be in our hearts forever. We will see you on the ball diamond in the sky.
