William Charles Marks

July 10 1934 - June 21 2010

Marks: William (Bill) Passed away at Talarico Place Castlegar, after a short battle with cancer. He was born a twin, to Donald & Blanche Marks in Sydney, Cape Breton July 10, 1934. Bill came to British Columbia at the age of 22, and was employed with Columbia Cellulose in Nakusp. He married Joan Brown in Nakusp June 21,1958 and they had 3 children.

In 1965 Bill was transferred to the Columbia Cellulose Pulp Mill in Prince Rupert, spending 10 years between Rupert, Kitimat, Kitwanga.

The family moved back to the Kootenays

in 1975, and settled in the Castlegar area. Wherever he lived, Bill was always involved in Hockey, Local Fire Departments, square dancing, & music. Until his passing he was a member of the Local Commissioners, B.C., Old Time Fiddlers #9 & the Columbia River

Sams Club.

He leaves to mourn his passing , his wife Joan of 52 years. Daughter Lois Teesdale ( Murfreesboro T.N.), Douglas of Robson & Stephen ( Chariise) Sandy Utah, 6 grandchildren: Nathan, Eric, Ryan Monique & Stephanie Marks, & Terrilyn Teesdale. 3 Brothers & 1 sister in Nova Scotia, along with many nieces

and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his parents and 1 brother (Doug).

The family would like to Thank Dr. Ankenbauer, the home care nurses, the nurses and staff of Talarico place for the wonderful care given to Bill the past few months.

Valley Funeral Home has been in charge of arrangements.

A Memorial service will be held at

the Robson Community Church July 17th, 2010 at 1:00 pm followed by a celebration of Bill’s Life at the Robson Community Hall.
