1947 2020 ~ Bill passed away peacefully March 2, 2020 in Kelowna, with his family by his side.
He was the first born child to Leslie John Gyurkovits & Cornelia Wilhelmina Jimmink on June 23, 1947 in Creston BC. After being raised in Kimberly BC and moving to Trail BC he met and married Jolene Dale Galbraith on August 19th 1968 and spent 52 loving years together.
Bill worked 8 years at Cominco and then Mercer Celgar where he retired after 36 years. Bill was involved with Boy Scouts of Canada, Castlegar Aquanauts, Lions Club, West Kootenay Kennel Club, and served proudly as a volunteer fireman with Castlegar for over 30yrs.
He was predeceased by his father Les in 1974 and his mother Corrie in 2013.
Survived by his loving wife Jolene and lovingly remembered by his sons Leslie (Kelly-Anne), Mark (Frieda), Grant (Kristie) and Kelly, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. His brother John (Linda), Bob (Rhonda), Richard (Phil) and Donald (Rebecca) not to mention his wonderful sister Susan and her cabbage rolls.
The family would like to thank the Kelowna Hospital for all the care he received from the nurses and his doctors.
There will be no service or funeral as per William's request.
