In response to the letter from Ms. Pasacreta of the frightening noise from Interfor.

Residents of the west Robson community of 20-plus years have been pleading with Interfor to give us back our peace and quiet.

Five years ago Interfor replaced a blower and realigned the inventory along the banks of the Columbia River to perpendicular to the river instead of parallel. In the months the company took away our lovely setting — it has taken years to get it back.

We had a meeting with the mill manager in the summer, along with the city manager and RDCK with no commitment or promises from the company’s end. We ask that they build a wall as their “inventory is fluid” and we ask that their road built adjacent to the river bank be graded and filled in.

We deserve back our peace and the use of our properties to entertain at any time without having to close windows or wait until Sunday to have a wine on the deck.
