I have found shopping in the downtown area of Castlegar very difficult this winter.
The sidewalks in front of many businesses have been left with ice and snow on them. Even those with canopies fail to clear the uncovered part right out to the curb.
The other problem is with the large snow banks at the curb. Here and there some have cleared a single path to a parking spot but there are very few.
This makes opening the door of a properly parked car almost impossible or if you can get it open one slides right back to the car. If shop owners want us downtown shopping, we, the shoppers, need some help.
