Re: ‘Harvesting program growing in Castlegar’ (June 16.) To provide further clarity to this article, we wanted to mention that  Castlegar “Grow A Row” is a project of the Kootenay Food Strategy Society (KFSS), implemented through City of Castlegar, Community Initiative Funds.

Its purpose is to enable access to local, healthy food to all community members, by encouraging those that are able and willing to grow an extra row of produce in their garden, for collection and distribution by KFSS.

Produce will be distributed to diverse and numerous groups including seniors, families, youth, and children.

Participants in the project will have their donations recorded and prizes will be awarded to the top three.

To “Grow A Row” (to support your community) or to learn more about the Castlegar project, please contact us. For more info on Grow A Row Canada, see growarow.org.
