The Kootenay girls BC Summer Games team have been busy getting in some last minute practice at Selkirk College in Castlegar this week.

The 10 players began their training session on Wednesday and finished up today (Friday). The team heads to the summer games in Surrey next Wednesday, July 18.

With players coming from as far as Cranbrook and Sparwood in the East and Greenwood in the West, head coach Kim Matson has brought the team together in the central location of Castlegar.

The team has had several three hour sessions on the court, but has also had a chance to bond over fun team activities and even swimming in the river.

Last weekend the team was in Spokane for a team camp at Gonzaga University. Although the competition was tough, the girls played hard and really improved, said Matson.
