The Castlegar Aquanauts won gold in Creston with their small but mighty team of 20 swimmers.

They achieved the top point position in the region. Of the 20 swimmers, they achieved: 43 best times, nine aggregate medals and another nine meet records.

The medalists: Hazel Johnson – bronze, Ethan Marshall – bronze, Avery Cooke – silver, Claire Cartwright – gold, Bryce Anderson – gold, Ethan Lawczynski – bronze, Cayden Cooke – gold, Emma Lawczynski – silver and Doug Van Ek – gold, achieved many great times. Cayden Cooke broke two individual meet records, Allynna Lipinski broke one individual meet record and Emma Lawczynski broke four individual meet records. Further, our senior boys broke a Div. 5 relay record by 13 seconds consisting of Ethan Lawczynski, Bryce Anderson, Cayden Cooke and Hunter Hansen.

In two weeks’ time, the team will be travelling to Colville, Wash. to compete. This is a great swim meets where we hope to blow the competition out of the water once again.
