Castlegar floor hockey event brought competition, camaraderie

Special Olympics British Columbia (SOBC) Castlegar hosted a floor hockey tournament

Special Olympics British Columbia (SOBC) Castlegar hosted a floor hockey tournament at the SHSS gym Saturday, Nov. 18.

Three teams participated, with first place going to Castlegar, second place to Trail, and third place to a Creston/Grand Forks team.

Each team played two games, and everyone enjoyed a lasagna lunch provided by SOBC-Castlegar Committee members and volunteers.

Many thanks to Brian Bogle of Safeway (Sobey’s) and Chris and Kathy Sykes of Tim Horton’s for donating groceries, coffee, and Timbits, as well as coming to watch and support our local athletes. And a big thank you to all our volunteers.
