The Castlegar Bantam House Highlanders brought home the gold medal from the Trail tournament this past weekend.

With round-robin wins over Palouse and Kimberley, the Highlanders met the Trail Outlaws in the semi-final. With stellar goalkeeping from Bryce Anderson and 22 seconds remaining on the clock, Ryan Buchanan scored, giving the Highlanders a 1-0 win.

In the final, the Highlanders faced Penticton, with end-to-end action and two minutes left on the clock, the Highlanders tied the game, 2-2 sending the game to overtime and ultimately a shoot-out. The goalie stopped all three shots, and the Highlanders scored three in a row.

The team has shown tremendous teamwork and perseverance this season; coached by Chris Barlow, Andy Roberts and Daneve Mackie.

This is the Highlanders second tournament win this season.
