Castlegar skaters excel at West Kootenay Invitational

The Castlegar Skating Club hosted the West Kootenay Invitational on Dec. 11 - 12 and many local skaters excelled at the event.

The club says it was a fantastic weekend filled with great skating and it was wonderful to feel the positive and upbeat energy at the rink.

They are thankful for the generous support of the community sponsors and those who donated items for the food bank during the event.

The Castlegar Complex assisted in facilitating this first-ever virtually judged, live-streamed figure skating event in the Kootenays.

The event would not have been possible without the amazing volunteers who came early in the morning and stayed late into the evening to ensure the competition ran smoothly.

The club also thanks their wonderful coaches Rachel Stewart, Ashley Ross, Jordyn Eberts and Zoey Crockart.
