The Castlegar Skating Club held their 2011/12 STARSkate Season Celebration dinner and awards night on May 12.
Each STARskater received a club certificate of achievement/membership and the club had a fantastic year with personal goals, milestones, competitions, testing and fun. Specific recognition was awarded to the following: Most Improved Junior – Jennifer Buskas, Most Improved Intermediate – Megan Cousins, Most Improved Senior – Sara Lefurgey, Most Dedicated – Rebecca Hasselbarth (exchange student from Germany), Program Assistants of the Year – Andrea Poznikoff & Kim Klashinsky, Congeniality – Annika Cheveldave, Best All Around – Andrea Poznikoff, Gold Feet in Skills/ Dance/ Competitive FreeSkate – Andrea Poznikoff, Honorary Club Lifelong Membership – Rebecca Richards & Sydni Thor-Larsen. Program Assistants, parents/guardians, coaches and all volunteers and “friends of skating” were thanked and the club is looking forward to another great year in September. A special thank you to our coaches Karen Kirkwood, Sabrina Hinson and Yoshie Measures for all you do! Registration for the 2012-13 season takes place at the Castlegar Community Complex at the Parade of Programs Night on Sept 5th 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. See you there!
