The Castlegar Curling Club held playdowns for the men’s league last week and the Ingram rink came out on top.

Games started at 9 a.m. on Saturday with the finals in the four events starting at 6 p.m. for a very long day of curling.

For those who don’t curl, everyone starts out in the A Event during playdowns. Once you lose, you move down to the B and then down to C, etc. Each event has a champion.

The BC Seniors Championships also took place on the same day, so some of the Castlegar teams could not make the playdowns. Also with it being the end of the season and with spring weather outside, some teams had to find alternates to fill out their teams.

The winners of the A Event were Jamie Ingram (skip), Randy Stewart (third), Steve Whitby (second) and Scott Blackman (first).

The winners of the B Event were Deane Horning, Nando Salvivulo, Kelly Kerraiff, Wayne Salekin, Roger Carlson (alternate) and Gary Meadows (alternate).

The winners of the C Event were Marvin Jones, Steve Croteau,Wyllie Jones and Joel Audet.

The winners of the D Event were Dana Schmidt, Paul Grutter, Victor Villa, Alister Nicoll, Scott Carlson (alternate), Brad Hildebrand (alternate) and Lui Marinelli (alternate).
