Junior lacrosse is back in the West Kootenays with a modified season for 2021.

The West Kootenay Timberwolves are participating in an exhibition series in the British Columbia West Coast Junior Lacrosse League and in the Alberta Rocky Mountain League. The Timberwolves will play 10 games over four weekends from early July to mid-August, with home games in Castlegar on July 17-18.

The Timberwolves travelled to the BC Lower Mainland for their opening weekend on July 10-11. After falling 17-5 to the Coquitlam Adanacs on Saturday, they rebounded with an 11-9 win against the Burnaby Lakers on Sunday.

The Timberwolves are hosting the Surrey Rebels at the Castlegar Complex on July 17 at 5 p.m. and July 18 at 11 a.m. The team is excited to welcome fans back to the rink and are celebrating a return to lacrosse with free admission for all.

COVID protocols will be in place, including limited fan seating (50 per cent of capacity). Doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled game time.

The Timberwolves will be away to play the Delta Islanders and Port Coquitlam Saints on August 7-8. The season wraps up in Cochrane for a tournaments where they will face off against the Olds Stingers, Strathmore Venom, and Calgary Wranglers.
