West Kootenay golfers in the junior circuit improved their games last weekend at Christina Lake, with the first-place winner finishing with an even par.
Kevin Bennett of the Rossland Trail Country Club held the top score of 72.
“He made very few mistakes and cruised to a three-shot victory over Tanner Kopan of Christina Lake,” Rob McKay, zone one co-ordinator said. “Only four players were able to break 80.”
The other two to break 80 were Jordan Hoodicoff of Christina Lake with a score of 76 and Tyler McKay of RTCC with a score of 79.
A number of Castlegar golfers participated on Sunday. Eric Bojey finished eighth overall with a score of 84, Amber Arnold had a score of 92, Evan Posnikoff had a score of 95 and Jeffrey Ashton had a score of 118.
Golfers will take to the links again this weekend with a noon shotgun start in Nakusp on Saturday and then Sunday at Granite Pointe in Nelson.
