A three-game swing covering the Shuswap, Thomson and North Okanagan areas concluded Sunday for the KIJHL Castlegar Rebels.

Following wins in Chase and Kamloops, on Friday and Saturday, respectively, the Castlegar squad fell in overtime to the North Okanagan Knights in Armstrong.

What follows, with information found on kijhl.ca, is a summary of the Sunday afternoon action.

The hosts held a 2-1 lead after the first period. Scoring for the Knights were Matt Lambert (Nathan Brown) then Lambert again (Derek Andrews and Matty Saharchuk) before Castlegar got on the board thanks to Hunter Jenerou (Tanner Johnson) on the power play.

The Rebels tied it in the second, Stuart Walton (from Jamie Vlanich and Diego Bartlett) notching the lone goal of the period before the teams traded markers in the third – Morgan Johnston (Josh Ellis) for the Knights and Darren Medeiros (Erik Alden) with a shorthanded effort for the Rebels.

The game was wrapped up in the first overtime period with Derek Andrews (Johnston) finding the mark.

The game was not without its share of chippiness, with the visitors being assessed 12 penalties to the hosts' eight.

Connor Beauchamp was again in nets for the Rebels, stopping 21 of 25 shots, while the North Okanagan's Austin Buzzell handled 38 of 41.

Next up for the Rebels is a Thursday (Nov. 22, 7:30 p.m.) tilt versus the Border Bruins in Grand Forks.
